Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-20

TrueForm ("we," "our," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, how we handle it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law, including British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If anything here is unclear, contact us at altercontactemail@gmail.com.

What we collect

What we do NOT collect

Your video stays on your device for form analysis. When you film or upload a clip, the pose-tracking analysis (the skeleton overlay, the measured angles) runs entirely on your own device. We do not upload, store, or transmit your raw video to our servers to analyze it. (The one time a clip can leave your device is if you choose to report a wrong analysis — see below.)

If you request AI-generated coaching notes (an optional, separate feature), we send only the numeric measurements already computed on your device (for example, "knee angle: 96°") to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the coaching text. The video or image itself is never sent.

One exception — reporting a wrong analysis. If you believe the analyzer graded a clip incorrectly, you can choose to report it. This is entirely optional, and each time you must tick a consent checkbox before anything is sent. Only if you do, we upload that clip together with the analysis it produced and email them to our team. We use reported clips solely to review and improve the accuracy of the analyzer, and for no other purpose. If you do not report a clip, it never leaves your device. If you are under the age where you can consent on your own (this varies by country), please have a parent or guardian agree before you send a report.

How we use your information

We rely on your consent to collect and use your personal information for these purposes; by using the Service you consent to the handling described here, and you can withdraw consent as described below. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the Service.

International data transfers

Some of our service providers (including Stripe and Anthropic, and potentially our hosting provider) store or process data on servers located outside Canada, such as in the United States. When information is handled in another country, it may be subject to that country's laws, including lawful access requests by courts or government authorities. We use reputable providers and rely on their contractual and technical safeguards to protect your information.

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records (for example, limited billing records for tax or legal purposes).

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your privacy rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent to our handling of it (which may mean we can no longer provide parts of the Service). To exercise any of these rights — including requesting a copy of your data or asking us to delete your account and associated data — email altercontactemail@gmail.com. You can also cancel your subscription anytime from your Account page.

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information that we haven't resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users between 13 and the age of majority where they live should use the Service only with a parent or guardian's consent, as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
